Camden Market

If you ever make it to London and want to see parts that aren't all classic old buildings you should take a trip to Camden. The Brooklyn of London, with hipsters and all, Camden has a great vibe and even a better market on weekends. When you first get off the tube you see rows of Chinese made stuff, and people haggling the vendors for nock-off purses. I was worried that was all it was, but I was very wrong. As you make it down to the left there is a three story building that has little shops, antiques, clothes, books, everything you can imagine and the BEST food vendors. There is jerk chicken, crepes, Thai, Chinese, Italian, vegan, just about anything you can imagine. I was going on my second day of being here and was in need of some greens, so I went for the veggie "bowl" with grilled halloumi cheese. What is that, you might ask, well halloumi is a semi-hard unripen brined cheese, made of a mixtures of goat and sheep milk. It has a super high melting point so it can be fried or grilled perfectly. It has always been a staple in places like Greece and Turkey, but the UK has decided to adopt the tradition. It was the perfect mix of salty and warm atop a mix of veggies, with a yogurt honey mustard dressing and grilled pita on the side. When I tell you I want to eat this every day of my life, I am not lying. It was ridiculously good, and recommend it to all that are wary of the unfamiliar name. It has even inspired me to go out and get some of my own to cook and put on my own salads in my dorm. The rest of the market was filled with gorgeous handmade pieces, great clothing, fabulous art and some really cool antiques.
